Cash Bull: Overview
Cash Bull is an online payday lender serving Alberta, with loans from $300 to $1,500. It charges $12 per $100 borrowed, which is $2 under the provincial maximum.
That sounds like a small difference. On a $1,500 loan it is $30 back in your pocket, and in a market where almost every lender charges the legal ceiling and leaves it there, a lender that does not is worth knowing about.
Is Cash Bull Legit?
Yes. Cash Bull Capital Inc. holds Alberta payday lender licence #356299, publishes its full cost of borrowing before you apply, and runs out of a head office in Edmonton.
Are You The Right Borrower For Cash Bull?
Cash Bull can be a good fit for you if:
- You want the cheapest payday loan you can get in Alberta – At $12 per $100 you pay less than the $14 almost every competitor charges. On $1,500 that is $180 in fees instead of $210.
- You are tired of fees appearing after you sign – There is no cancellation fee, no early repayment fee and no service or support charge. The borrowing fee is the cost, and that is the end of it.
- You do not want your credit touched – There is no hard credit check, so applying will not move your score. What matters instead is your income and how your bank account has behaved lately.
What We Verified

What We Verified
Last checked 8 Oct 2026What They Offer
One product, one province. Cash Bull does payday loans in Alberta and nothing else.
Payday Loan
$12 per $100 borrowedA short term loan repaid over 42 to 62 days, in installments that line up with how often you are paid.
Loan Features
- The fee is under the legal maximum – Alberta allows $14 per $100. Cash Bull charges $12. The fee is the one part of a payday loan you can shop around on, and most lenders sit at the maximum.
- No side fees – No cancellation fee, no early repayment fee, no service or support charge. If you cancel or pay it out early, that costs you nothing.
- Repayment matches your pay cycle – You choose weekly, every two weeks, twice monthly, monthly, or the last Friday of the month, so the debit lands after your money does.
- No documents to upload – No pay stubs, no identification scans. The application runs on what you enter and takes about three minutes.
- One loan at a time – You cannot hold two Cash Bull loans at once. That is a restriction, but it is also the thing that stops a payday loan turning into a payday habit.
How Fast You Get Your Money
| Stage | How long it takes |
|---|---|
| Filling in the application | About 3 minutes, online |
| When you can apply | 24 hours a day, 7 days a week |
| Pre-approval decision | Instant |
| Getting the money | Often within minutes to an hour of signing |
| How it arrives | EFT or Interac e-Transfer |
Evenings and weekends run slower, and an EFT can take until the next business day to clear. If you need the money in your hands today, apply during business hours on a weekday and ask for e-Transfer.
Who Qualifies
Cash Bull publishes its basic approval requirements, which is more than most lenders do. Here they are.
| Requirement | What you need |
|---|---|
| Income | Net income of at least $1,500 a month, for the past 3 months |
| Employment | Employed or self-employed |
| Bank account | A Canadian personal account, at least 6 months old |
| Age | 18 or older |
| Where you live | Alberta |
| Contact details | A personal email address and a cell number, both of which get verified |
| Credit check | No hard check |
| Loan size | $300 to $1,500 |
Two of those are easy to misread. The income test is three months of history, not just this month, so a job you started six weeks ago will not clear it. And the account has to be a personal account that has been open six months, so a business account or a newly opened one will not do.
Meeting The Basics Is Not The Same As Being Approved
Cash Bull says every application goes through a further review that weighs additional eligibility and risk factors before any money moves. Two of those are worth knowing about up front, because they are the usual reasons an application that looks fine gets declined.
Recent returned payments. Three or more NSFs in the past 60 days will stop you. Count yours before you apply.
How much you already owe. If your existing debt payments come to more than half your net income, expect a no.
Self-employment counts, which is unusual for a payday lender. If you contract, drive, or run something of your own, and other lenders have wanted a T4 you cannot produce, that alone makes Cash Bull worth an application.
How To Apply
The application runs across six screens with a progress bar along the top, so you always know how much is left. The whole thing takes about three minutes.
This is what each screen asks for.
Screen 5 is the one to slow down on. Your repayment schedule is built from what you enter there, so make sure the pay frequency you give is the real one. A debit set to land the day before your money arrives is how NSF fees happen, and three of those in 60 days will block your next application.
What A Cash Bull Loan Costs
Cash Bull charges $12 per $100 borrowed. Alberta permits $14, so you are paying about 14% less than the going rate.
| You borrow | Cost at Cash Bull ($12) | You repay | Cost elsewhere ($14) | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $300 | $36 | $336 | $42 | $6 |
| $500 | $60 | $560 | $70 | $10 |
| $1,000 | $120 | $1,120 | $140 | $20 |
| $1,500 | $180 | $1,680 | $210 | $30 |
Note
These numbers are for illustrative purposes only. Actual numbers may vary.
A returned payment brings an NSF fee, and a loan left past due accrues interest at 2.5%. Read the payment schedule in your agreement before you sign, and check it against your own pay dates.
What That Means Per Payment
You will not be handing back $560 in one go. The balance is broken into installments across the term, and how many you get depends on the pay frequency you choose at application.
On a $500 loan repaid over 42 days:
- Paid weekly, that is six payments of roughly $93
- Paid every two weeks, three payments of roughly $187
- Paid twice a month, three payments of roughly $187
Pick the frequency that matches your real pay cycle, not the one with the smallest number next to it. A $93 payment due on a week you do not get paid is worse for you than a $187 payment that lands the day after your money does.
Is Cash Bull Licensed?
One province, one licence, and the number is published on their site rather than left for you to request. You can confirm it yourself through Alberta’s business licence search, or by calling the province on 1-877-427-4088.
A single provincial licence also tells you something about the business. Cash Bull cannot lend to you if you move to Saskatchewan, and it cannot quietly apply another province’s rules to your loan. Everything about your agreement, the $14 ceiling it chooses to sit under, the minimum term, the disclosure you get before signing, comes from Alberta law and nowhere else.
Cash Bull Pros
- $12 per $100 instead of $14 – The only payday lender in our directory charging under the provincial maximum. On $1,500 you keep $30.
- Nothing hidden on top – No cancellation fee, no early repayment fee, no service charge.
- No hard credit check – Applying will not move your score, and a thin or damaged credit file will not stop you.
- You choose the payment rhythm – Five repayment frequencies, so the debit can be set to land after your pay does.
- A six week minimum term – Alberta’s rules mean you repay in installments over 42 to 62 days rather than in one lump.
- Fast and paperless – About three minutes to apply, instant pre-approval, nothing to scan or upload.
- The licence number is published – Printed on every page, so you can check it against the Alberta register yourself.
Cash Bull Cons
- Alberta only – No other province, with no sign of that changing.
- 167.75% APR – Cheaper than its competitors, still one of the most expensive ways to borrow in Canada.
- $300 is the floor – If you only need $150, you cannot borrow it here.
- You need $1,500 a month coming in – Higher than most payday lenders ask for.
- Recent NSFs will stop you – Three or more in 60 days and the answer is no.
- No phone number – Support runs on email and WhatsApp. If you want to speak to a person about a problem, there is no line to call.
- No independent review record – No Trustpilot profile and no Better Business Bureau file, so there is nothing outside the company’s own site to go on.

Before You Borrow, Try These
Two things are worth checking first, and neither takes long.
A Cash Advance App
This is the closest thing to a payday loan that is not one. Cash advance apps front you a few hundred dollars against pay you have not received yet, and instead of a borrowing fee you pay a small monthly membership. No credit check, and the amount comes off your next pay automatically.
The catch is the ceiling. Most will only advance $100 to $500 at first, and the limit grows as you keep using it. If you need $1,500 today, this will not cover it. If you need $300, it almost certainly costs you less than borrowing the same amount here.

Check Out Your City Services
Before you borrow anything, find out what already exists where you live. 211.ca is a free, confidential directory of community and government services across Canada, searchable by postal code, and it lists emergency financial help most people never hear about.
In Alberta, for example, the Basic Needs Fund run by Rise Calgary gives one-time emergency money to low income Calgarians for rental arrears, an eviction notice, utility arrears or a disconnection notice, a damage deposit, or an unexpected medical bill. There is no fee and nothing to repay. You will need photo identification, 90 days of bank statements and proof of income, and you have to have tried the Alberta Works Emergency Fund first on 1-877-644-9992.
That is one fund in one city. Search your own postal code on 211 and see what comes back before you decide a loan is the only way through.
